HOLLYWOOD—The Fourth of July is almost here, it’s the day we celebrate our independence with being at the beach, fireworks, barbecues, ideally a beautiful setting with sand between your toes. It’s the perfect day for hot dogs, hamburgers, lobster rolls, listening to live music, watching impressive pyrotechnic displays over the water. The Hamptons is costly, yet since it’s very expensive you don’t have to worry about crowds. Each year, the Stars Over Montauk Grucci Fireworks Display usually takes place at Kirk Park Beach also known as Umbrella Beach. Sag Harbor Yacht Club, Clamshell Foundation in East Hampton, or Shelter Island’s Crescent Beach usually have post-holiday celebrations.

The Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks show this year will take place on Friday, July 4, with the show launching from the Brooklyn Bridge and four barges on the East River at the Seaport District. The 49th annual show will be televised live on NBC and Peacock rom 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET and on Telemundo from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET. The show will feature over 80,000 fireworks with 30 colors that are vivid and vibrant, and a musical score curated by Ahmir Thompson “Questlove” and James Poyser, according to published reports. Some of the firework’s effect will be like crown jellyfish, atomic rings, green sunbursts and comet fans. Some of the performers include the Jonas Brothers, Eric Church, Lenny Kravitz, Ava Max, Keke Palmer and Trisha Yearwood.

In Malibu there is always Paradise Cove. It’s also a great place to celebrate the Fourth of July. Other beaches are Zuma Beach, Surfrider Beach and El Matador are all great choices for enjoying the beach atmosphere, picnics and fireworks display. Private firework displays are often launched from the barges off the Malibu coast, and visible from various beaches. The rule of thumb is to arrive early, since popular beaches fill up quickly. Universal studios Hollywood has a 4th of July celebration with fireworks. Marina del Rey will have a fireworks show at Burton Chace Park and Fisherman’s Village. Newport Beach hosts a fireworks display at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina. The City of Mountain View and Live Nation present the 2025 Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. Huntington Beach is known for its 4th of July celebrations, including a parade and fireworks. There are post-game fireworks at Dodger Stadium after the baseball game. Pacific Palisades has a parade, and fireworks show at Palisades Charter High School.

The Hollywood Bowl has performers Earth, Wind & Fire that will be performing for three nights, including the 4th, with a fireworks display.  The first night will be July 2, 2025, at 7:30, July 3, and 4th. Together with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, conductor Thomas Wilkins, and a sky full of fireworks, the party starting Rock & Roll Hall of Famers make it a huge July fourth at the Bowl.
