HOLLYWOOD—The death of Paul Walker last year took so many by surprise, including myself. It was even more disturbing to learn the actor died in a car crash that seemed all too relevant to the film franchise that made him a star “The Fast and Furious.”

Well this weekend, audiences got their first look at Walker’s last film, “Furious 7” which looks to top the craziness of “Fast Five” and “Fast and Furious 6.” So just what would the crew do to up the ante? Steal cars from a plane and catapult themselves from the sky to the ground. Yeah, it sounds far-fetched, but wait till you see it on the screen.

Those final moments before the trailer explains just what chaos will emerge spring 2014, as Walker’s character Brian runs on the top of a tour bus and jumps just in a nic of time before it plummets into a canyon. The rest of the trailer reveals that the crew soon finds themselves being hunted by Jason Statham’s character, who happens to be the brother of Owen Shaw. I have a feeling that Han isn’t the only character who will dearly depart the franchise in this seventh installment.

Hobbs (Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson) seems to play a smaller role in this installment as he warns Dominic (Vin Diesel) and the others that Shaw is out for blood. I must say Statham looks to be the first worthy villain that could cause quite a bit of trouble for our gang. The series does take things to new heights as they arrive in Abu Dhabi; we also get our first glimpse of Kurt Russell as well.

I’m certain director James Wan, who takes over the helm from Justin Lin is looking to give audiences more action than they can ever expect. Walker, Diesel, Johnson, Statham, Russell, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster and Ludacris will bring “Furious 7” to the multiple on April 3, 2015. Buckle your seats it’s sure to be one hell of a ride!
