HOLLYWOOD—After more than two weeks of maintaining the top spot at the box-office, “Gone Girl” has been unseated. Taking the #1 spot at the box-office was the Brad Pitt war flick “Fury” with just over $23 million to seal the deal. Its apparent audiences will come out in droves to see Mr. Pitt.

Taking a bit of a tumble to the #2 spot was the film that has all of Americatalking “Gone Girl” with just under $18 million. After just three weeks in theaters the movie has crossed the $100 million mark. Grabbing the #3 slot was the animated flick “The Book of Life” with around $17 million. I must say it’s been awhile since a children friendly flick invaded the multiplex.  Falling to the #4 spot was “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, Not Good, Very Bad Day” with around $12 million. Not bad for a movie that earned just under $20 million last week.

Rounding out the top five was the Nicholas Sparks romancer “The Best of Me,” earning just a little over the $10 million mark. Seemed like love was not explosive at the box-office this weekend.  This weekend sees the release of an actual horror movie just in time for Halloween as “Ouija” hits the multiplex. I have a feeling not too many people will be playing with that board game after seeing the thriller.
