BEVERLY HILLS—A natural gas leak on Wednesday, May 27 caused Eastbound Wilshire Boulevard to be closed while officials fixed the issue.

The leak reportedly began around 12:30 a.m. near Hancock Park. Some businesses around the area we forced to evacuate. Lanes were closed on Wilshire between La Brea and Highland Avenue for eastbound traffic. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the leak was reported at the 5100 block of Wilshire Boulevard at around 7 a.m.

At around 9 a.m. lanes for eastbound traffic re-opened. It has been reported that no customers had their gas services interrupted.
