LOS ANGELES—The Greater Los Angeles Area on Deafness (GLAD) will be holding a “Summer Yard Sale” to help people clean their homes and get rid of unwanted items on Saturday, August 9. All proceeds from the event will go towards GLAD’s Domestic Violence Program.

The event aims to help people de-clutter by donating any unused or gently used items to GLAD so they can support Domestic Violence services for survivors. GLAD began collecting items on July 28 and will continue to take donations on August 8 as long as the items are brought during business hours, which range from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The office will be closed from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Early drop-offs or items that were dropped off before July 31 were not accepted. When donating large items such as furniture, GLAD advised donators to contact Rafif Gerrard by VP at: (323) 892-2312 or by email at: rgerrard@gladinc.org prior to dropping off furniture.

The event is free to attend and will start at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. For more information on GLAD’s Domestic Violence Program, contact GLAD by Phone/TTY: (323) 478-8000, VP: (323) 892-2225 or by fax at (323) 550-4205.

The Summer Car Show that was going to be held in conjunction with the yard sale has been cancelled.
