LOS ANGELES—The Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness (GLAD) and Peace Over Voice (POV) are putting into work an event to advocate against violence in the deaf community. The event, “Imagine” A violence free deaf community,” was planned to occur on January 25, 2014, but according to the GLAD website, the event has been postponed.

The event is meant for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community who are over the age of 13; child care will not be provided at this event. Activities include personal security awareness training, GLAD HIV program information booth, HIV testing, guest speakers, and the clothesline project; a project that has aimed to stop the violence against women for nearly 20 years.

The event will be located at GLAD’s auditorium on 2222 Laverna Avenue in Los Angeles.
