LOS ANGELES-On Friday, May 30, the Greater Los Angeles Area on Deafness (GLAD) will be presenting a workshop that informs those that are deaf and/or hard of hearing their risk of having a stroke.

 

The event, titled “Are You at Risk of Having a STROKE?” is being presented by the Stroke Association of Southern California’s Facilitator Dana Rivera.

 

The workshop will be held in ASL. The flyer for the event will help attendees take notice of the signs and habits that may lead to a stroke such as family history, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and life style habits such as smoking, alcohol and the lack of physical activity.

 

The workshop will start at 1:30 p.m. and is expected to end at 2:30 p.m. and will be located at GLAD on 2222 Laverna Avenue in Los Angeles, CA.
