HOLLYWOOD—For the second consecutive weekend, a franchise from the past ruled the box-office. The 2018 flick “Halloween” scared audiences once again to the tune of $32 million. While a steep drop from the nearly $80 million during opening weekend, it’s still impressive. After 10 days in theaters, the horror flick has earned over $127 million at the domestic box-office. “Halloween” is likely to earn between $175-$200 million at the domestic box-office before ending its run in theaters.

Staying in second place was the drama “A Star is Born” with just over $14 million. After close to a month in theaters, the drama has amounted close to $150 million at the domestic box-office, and will indeed be a major contender come awards season. “Venom” landed in third place with $11 million, and is just shy of $13 million from crossing the $200 million mark at the domestic box-office.

The family-friendly flick “Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween” took fourth place with $7.5 million, while one of the new flicks of the weekend “Hunter Killer” debuted in fifth place with a tepid $6.7 million. “Halloween” will face a battle next weekend as the remake “Suspira” hits theaters and the musical drama “Bohemian Rhapsody” vie for the public’s attention.
