SANTA MONICA—The Hidden Cash scavenger hunt craze is coming to Santa Monica this weekend. The scavenger hunt, challenges individuals to find hidden sums of money stuffed in white envelopes throughout the city.

Hidden Cash, as an event originated from San Franciscan real estate investor Jason Buzi. Two years ago, Buzi created the Hidden Cash scavenger hunt by hiding money in envelopes throughout San Francisco and revealed clues to their whereabouts through Twitter. As part of an ongoing game, individuals who found hidden cash drops then tweeted a picture or video of their discovery which denoted its captured status. The amount of hidden envelopes and the amount each envelope contained varied depending on user participation. More hunters led to a higher frequency in money drops and larger quantities of cash within envelope prizes.

Both the Hidden Cash Twitter account and Facebook page list details for user participation. Downloading the Metaverse App is the only manner for participants to access crucial clue information to locating the envelopes with cash.

While the anonymous Twitter and Facebook accounts list no direct information about the benefactor behind this event, a clue suggests that it may be Francis Hawke, D.D.S.
