HOLLYWOOD—It seems like the box-office has been on a rollercoaster ride the entire month of March with a different movie on top each week. This week it was a duel between the animated flick “Home” and the comedy “Get Hard.” So who was victorious? It was the Rihanna flick “Home” with just over $54 million.

The film performed beyond expectations from predictors, which must have been a hit with kids and families this week. Grabbing the #2 spot was the Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell comedy “Get Hard.” The movie debuted with high numbers for an R-rated movie with around $36.4 million. That’s impressive for a flick that many thought wouldn’t cross pass the $20 million mark.

Last week’s box-office champ, “Insurgent” fell more than 50 percent taking in only $22 million. In only two weeks, the sequel has already amassed more than $85 million at the domestic box-office.

Family-friendly flicks continue to show strong power at the multiplex with “Cinderella” adding another $17.5 million to its total.  Rounding out the top five is the indie horror flick “It Follows” with $4 million. Get prepared movie lovers, as this thriller is being heralded as the scariest thing to date.

I’m certain the buzz will only increase box-office numbers in the coming weeks. Well not too much, “Furious 7” opens this week and it’s sure to amount more than $100 million in its first week.
