HOLLYWOOD—A homeless man has been charged for stabbing two people and attacking two others on Hollywood Boulevard on November 22.

According to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, Daniel Samuel Jones, 34, was charged on November 28 with one felony count of attempted murder and four felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon, a knife and screwdriver. The suspect pleaded not guilty and will return to court for a preliminary hearing on Monday, December 11 in Department 33 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

Jones stabbed a woman with a screwdriver on the sidewalk near Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue, and is alleged to have entered a nearby hotel and assaulted two employees with a knife before leaving and stabbing a man walking on the sidewalk, prosecutors added.

His bail was set at more than $1.1 million. If convicted as charged, he faces a possible maximum sentence of 17 years in state prison. The case is still under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, Hollywood Division.
