BEVERLY HILLS—This week in Hollywoodland we prepare to honor those we love on Valentine’s day. I offer a special tribute to two famous mothers who are special ladies in my life. Also, a happy birthday wish goes out to my friend Seth Green, my horror film costar Douglas Tait returned from Europe where he attended a horror movies fan convention, and what happened to Lindsay Lohan in court on Wednesday?

Constance Towers is one of the most prolific and talented actresses in the industry. The beautiful blue-eyed former Columbia Studios contract player once had her eyes insured for a million dollars. Now on “General Hospital” she is always on the go. With her charity work close to her heart, Towers also works tirelessly to help underprivileged children in Mexico find homes throughout the U.S. with adoptive families, who have a place in their homes and hearts for children in need.

My best friend Lauralee’s mother, Lee Phillip Bell, is co-creator of “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.” The gorgeous lady was the first lady of Chicago TV long before Oprah Winfrey made the windy city her home. “The Lee Phillip Bell Show” had presidents and other world leaders as regular guests, which is why Lee is considered one of the most creative women in the world. Her dedication to social issues has made its way on to her two soaps over the years, and she’s now co-authoring a book about her esteemed late husband William “Bill” J. Bell, Sr.

Seth Green, the creator of “Robot Chicken” had a birthday on Tuesday. “Robot Chicken,” this year’s Emmy® winner for Outstanding Animated Program, is currently airing season five on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim and they are already renewed for season six. Seth is also the voice of Chris Griffin on Fox’s “Family Guy.” On “Robot Chicken,” he’s co-creator, executive producer, writer, director and a frequent voice actor. On Saturday the show won another Annie Award. The animated awards honored Seth and his series in the Writing in a Television Production category. Seth’s writing team include Geoff Johns, Matthew Beans, Zeb Wells, Hugh Sterbakov, Matthew Senreich, Breckin Meyer, Mike Fasolo, Douglas Goldstein, Tom Root, Dan Milano, Kevin Shinick and Hugh Davidson for “Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III.”

The Daytime Emmy Awards® nominations are about to be announced. This year’s competition will be fierce. However, Constance Towers and I concur on Mark Teschner’s worthy work as the casting director for “General Hospital” on ABC. Mark has won three Emmys already for his distinguished work. Towers exclaimed when asked if it would surprise her if Teschner picked up his fourth. “Are you kidding? He’s the best. He should win it each year!”

The Best Dramatic Series nominees will most likely include last year’s two-time Emmy winner CBS’s “The Bold and the Beautiful,” also, CBS’s “The Young and the Restless” and ABC’s “One Life To Live.” Canyon News will have the full list of nominees when the nominations are announced shortly.

My “The Chauffer” costar Douglas Tait, who has played monsters in many films, just returned from Germany where he attended a horror movie fan event. “I had a blast. I was treated like a king. They set me up at a five star hotel. On the day of the event I was picked up in a stretch limousine and was escorted by German actors dressed in LAPD uniforms, and they were driving LAPD police cars with the sirens on! When we arrived to the arena, there were fans, press and people dressed in costumes cheering as the limousine door was opened. I felt like Leonardo DiCaprio arriving for the red carpet at the Academy Awards®,” said actor Tait. “As I walked the red carpet I was greeted with high-fives and people speaking German and English with big smiles on their faces. As I sat at the table with the other talent, I was so impressed by the genuine excitement of the German fans. They were so gracious and happy to talk to me about the movies I have done and the characters I have played.”

Douglas added, “As the day came to an end I was saying goodbye to the guests and was asked by many of them if I would return. They said they would like for me to come back to the Weekend Of Horrorsconvention that is happening in May. I have had several of the fans and event promoters request me to attend this event. I told them that I would love to return to Germany and bid them farewell and a big thanks for coming to meet me. Tommy, I was especially impressed by the convention promoters, Stephan Prietzel and Angelo Zannin, for the great event they put on. I was reunited with the actual hockey mask and machete that I used in ”˜Freddy vs. Jason’. Mario Kirner is a German native who owns the ‘Friday the 13th’ prop museum.”

On Wednesday, actress Lindsay Lohan appeared in an L.A. courtroom dressed in white, where she pleaded not guilty to charges of felony grand theft. Lohan is being accused by a Venice jeweler of stealing a one-of-a-kind necklace from their shop. She contends that the item was borrowed. Lohan’s next court hearing is in two weeks, where she will report to a Beverly Hills courtroom regarding her probation.

Have a great week, and see you next week! XOXO
