Hundreds Protest Congresswoman Ilhan Omar

WOODLAND HILLS—Hundreds gathered across the street from the Hilton hotel in Woodland Hills to protest Congresswoman Ilhan Abdullahi Omar on Saturday, March 23. She came to Woodland Hills to speak to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Omar is from Minnesota and serves as the U.S. Representative for the 5th Congressional District.  She is the first Muslim Congresswoman.

Congresswoman Ihlan Omar spoke on empowering Muslims.

Protestors were out speaking against anti-Semitic comments that Omar recently made.

“I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is OK to push for allegiance to a foreign country,” said Omar.

Judge Jeanine Pirro and commentator for Fox News was suspended after questioning Omar about the Congresswoman’s loyalty to America.

Over 200 spectators were in attendance wearing Trump gear and carrying American flags, Trump flags, and Jewish flags. Representatives for Latinos for Trump and The Walk Away campaign were in attendance showing their support.  The Los Angeles Police Department was in attendance at the event.

Video footage of the protest was provided by Remnant News where a protestor told a reporter they were there in protest to Sharia law and the oppression that comes with it. Others were there in support of the U.S. Constitution and President Donald Trump, while others were there to support Israel. It was a peaceful protest.

Mark Reed (R) who ran and was defeated by Congressman Brad Sherman (D) in District 30 spoke saying, “We all need to stand together against anti-Semitic hate speech.”

There was a group with a bullhorn shouting, “Impeach Omar.” One protester asked the reporter why the Hilton hotel would host a terrorist organization like CAIR? The establishment is located in a Jewish neighborhood.

Inside the Hilton, Congresswoman Omar reportedly told her audience to, “Raise Hell and Make people feel uncomfortable.”
