BEVERLY HILLS\u2014A \u201cWe Will Never Forget: 15 Years of Remembrance\u201d ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hills 9\/11 Memorial Garden on Sunday, September 11, according to the 9\/11 Memorial Garden website. The ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. at the memorial garden located at 445 North Rexford Drive on the northwest corner of Rexford and South Santa Monica Boulevard.<\/p>\n
On September 11, 2011, the Beverly Hills 9\/11 Memorial Garden was unveiled to honor the lives lost during the tragedy of September 11, 2001. The memorial garden received input and support from the Beverly Hills Fire Department, Beverly Hills Police Department, elected officials and city staff. Funding for the garden came from private donations of money, time, expertise and materials.<\/p>\n
In the center of the memorial garden stands a floor beam from the Twin Towers. The memorial garden also contains various vignettes that represent all three plane crash sites: the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The Beverly Hills 9\/11 Memorial Committee oversees the memorial garden project, fundraising efforts and community outreach with support from the BHFD, the Beverly Hills Firemen’s Association, the Beverly Hills Police Officer’s Association, the city of Beverly Hills and the Rotary Club of Beverly Hills.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis awe-inspiring garden honors all those who were lost, those devoted to keeping America safe and those of us who still believe all are created equal and have the right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness,\u201d states the memorial garden\u2019s website.<\/p>\n
The Beverly Hills 9\/11 Memorial Garden is open to the public on a daily basis and provides a sanctuary for people to sit, contemplate and remember the events that occurred on September 11, 2001.
