MELROSE\u2014Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department are searching for the suspect responsible for fatally shooting a 27 year-old man on Melrose Avenue on Monday, August 28.<\/p>\n
The incident transpired at around 5:45 p.m. in the region of Melrose Avenue and Sierra Bonita Avenue in the Fairfax District, when an undercover police officer who was patrolling the weather heard numerous gunshots. According to police, over 15 gunshots were fired during the incident.<\/p>\n
According to reports, two men got into an argument which later sparked the shooting. Melrose Avenue was closed as authorities investigated the crime. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
The suspect is described as an African-American male between the ages of 20-25 years old. He stands approximately 5 foot and 10 inches tall to 6 feet tall and was wearing a dark jacket. The suspect was seen driving away in a black SUV, east through the alley just south of Melrose Avenue.<\/p>\n
The motive for the shooting is unknown, but authorities suspect the shooting to possibly be gang related.<\/p>\n
