SANTA MONICA─The Santa Monica Police Department revealed on Tuesday, November 12, that Jalen Markeith Perrot, 27, was charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with great bodily injury and one count of resisting arrest.

Perrot was responsible for stabbing a man in his arm on November 6. According to the SMPD, at approximately 7 p.m. officers in the area of the 700 block of Santa Monica witnessed a male bleeding profusely from his arm.

Officers on scene provided emergency medical aid to the victim, to prevent significant blood loss. The male subject had a laceration to his neck and a significant laceration to his brachial artery.  He was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment and is in stable condition.  On November 7, authorities identified and arrested Perrot.
