HOLLYWOOD HILLS—James Otis, who was arrested for using a pickaxe to damage Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is taking legal action to have the star removed.

Otis, an heir to the Otis Elevator family, was charged for felony vandalism after being taken into custody on October 27.

Otis held a press conference on Friday, November 4 to demand Trump’s star be removed from 6801 Hollywood Boulevard as the existence of the star presented is a public nuisance.

“Hollywood Walk of Fame is a beautiful, historical place where there are educated, lovely hardworking actors and writers and directors,” Otis said. “But now this star gets assaulted three times a day at least. The police are always here watching this star. We don’t need it here.”

Otis said he would fight legally to have the Trump’s star removed for as long as it took.

“I am suing Donald Trump, Donald Trump’s organization, the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to remove this because they have not honored their own rules to get the star out,” Otis stated.

He said the lawsuit would be legally filed via his legal representative in Los Angeles on Monday. He is due in court for the felony vandalism case on November 18.
