BEVERLY HILLS—The Beverly Hills mansion of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, 54, was nearly burglarized on June 6 TMZ first reported. Three people attempted to break in by smashing one of Bezos’ windows. After breaking the window, the three suspects fled the scene.

Lt. David Hamel of the Beverly Hills Police Department told Canyon News, “I don’t know exactly what scared them off. There is security at the location. That may have deterred any of their plans.”

The three suspects have not yet been identified by police. “We have some investigative leads that we’re working on right now,” said Lt. Hamel.

The three suspects are believed to be responsible for a successful burglary in the same area.

“We believe that they are involved in a burglary that occurred that same evening,” Hamel told Canyon News.

This robbery resulted in a 25-minute car chase, but the cops were unable to track down the suspects TMZ reported.

Bezos is currently the richest man in the world. He has a net worth of approximately $138 billion. Bezos started Amazon in 1994 during a cross-country trip. He purchased The Washington Post in 2013 for $250 million in cash. He founded the spaceflight company Blue Origin in September 2000.
