NEW YORK—Fashion Police” host and comedienne Joan Rivers, 81, suffered respiratory and cardiac arrest during a minor throat procedure on August 28.
She has been on life support since being rushed to
Hospital on Thursday. Doctors placed Rivers into a medically induced coma, which she was recently taken out of.
Joanâ€™s daughter, Melissa Rivers, 46, flew from
Los Angeles to be at her motherâ€™s side. She has been providing updates to the public about her motherâ€™s condition.
Melissa Rivers indicated the following in a statement on Tuesday, September 2, â€œOn behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support weâ€™ve received.â€ She added, â€œAt this time she does remain on life support.â€
Celebrities have been vocal sending blessings to Rivers via social media on her path to recovery.
Ellen DeGeneres tweeted, â€œIâ€™m thinking about you, @Joan_Rivers, and sending lots of love your way.â€
Courtney Love Cobain tweeted, â€œHang in there @Joan_Rivers So many awful gowns are going to be worn this year as bait for you pull through. Love and prayers Court.â€
