HOLLYWOOD HILLS—On June 12, at approximately 3:50 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) West Bureau responded to a small brush fire at the base of the ravine at 3038 N. Runyon Canyon Road. According to the LAFD Alert page, the fire was close to Runyon Canyon Park. There was no structure threat.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., LAFD updated the status of the fire. The first 20 LAFD firefighters to arrive at the scene were able to hike through the brush to the remote area of the fire and contain it to a 50 x 50 area within Runyon Canyon Park.
Firefighters extinguished the fire within 45 minutes. There were no injuries or structure damage reported. No evacuation was required. According to reports, firefighters remained on the scene into the evening to establish the bare soil perimeter and extinguish any burning embers.
