LAKE CITY – On March 22, the Lake City High School hosted the Dare 2 be D.E.A.F career fair for the deaf and hard of hearing community. The fair focused on how it’s ok to be deaf and gave the deaf community, and hearing community a chance to find out what their dream job was and how to obtain a career.

The free of charge fair was hosted by the Lake City High School campus and was a big success according to students and teachers, as it was stated that over 200 people attended this event. Lake City High School senior Shantessa Graham came to event not knowing anything about her dream job and left “knowing more before [she goes] to college.”

The overall main goal of the alumni who put this together was to let the parents and students know how to successfully balance continuing their education and working in the professional world to be successful in order to do what they love most.
