BEVERLY HILLS—The city of Beverly Hills announced in a press release that traffic construction will impact the daily commute for residents and businesses in the region.
The city of Los Angeles, Bureau of Street Services will cold plane and resurface areas of the street on Sunset Boulevard, from Ladera Drive to Beverly Glen Boulevard. Cold planing, or asphalt milling, is the process of removing part of the surface of a paved area such as a road, bridge, or parking lot. Milling removes anywhere from just enough thickness to level and smooth the surface to a full removal of all pavement.
Construction and lane closures are scheduled for Saturday, June 18, to Sunday, June 19, as well as the following weekend on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26. Work is planned to take place from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction during the scheduled working hours. The public is advised to use Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica Boulevard, or other alternate routes while reconstruction is taking place.
Those with questions regarding the construction project is asked to contact John Sapone, representative of the Bureau of Street Services at (818) 756-8651.
