HOLLYWOOD HILLS—Detectives from the West Bureau of the Los Angeles Police Department arrested Markell Rowland, 25, on November 5, 2019 for:
- Forced Oral
- Copulation
- Unlawful Sex With A Minor
- Assault with Intent to Commit Oral Copulation
- Criminal Threats
The suspect has a history of approaching underage girls in the Hollywood area, asking them for their social media screen names, and approaching them directly online through their social media pages. Rowland also goes by the aliases Markel Southall and “Kel.”
Any additional victims who may have been reluctant to report similar crimes committed by Rowland are asked to contact Operations West Bureau Detectives. Rowland is in custody on a Parole Violation Hold with bail for his current charges set at $225,000.
