HOLLYWOOD—This week’s leading ladies gold standard goes to “The Bold and the Beautiful” actress Alley Mills, as Pamela, and “As The World Turns” star Lesli Kay, as Molly. The two amazing actresses portrayed women on the emotional edge this week, with both being pushed by people who are the last they should listen to. Pam is being brainwashed by Stephen Logan to stop taking her medication that controls her bipolar disorder and Molly’s always getting the wrong advice from best friend Carly, who told her to continue lying to the police about the shooting and death of Senator Silas Whitman. Both Mills and Kay stretched their acting muscles this week and came out ahead of everyone else in the daytime acting race.
Alley Mills is very good at being bad, but the new side of Pam is one we don’t recognize. She’s now a delusional woman in love with a man who hates her. Though Stephen has moved into Pam’s apartment and pretends he’s falling in love with her, Pam is actually being set up in a bigger plan to kill Stephanie. The problem is that Stephen decided he wouldn’t pull the trigger himself, but would convinced Pam to do so. Taking her medication is paramount, so when she was convinced to stop taking the pills, being told by Stephen that they are actually a way her older sister Stephanie controls her, we saw a side of Pam that is scarier than before. Ally Mills played the role excellently and hit all the high notes. From being in love, to confused, then defiant, she played it all.
Molly’s week didn’t start out so great. Her fiancé Holden Snyder has convinced her that the shooting of an unarmed and tied up man was not her fault. Silas was tormenting Molly, calling her a whore, “You are my whore and always will be,” said the Senator. Molly after years of emotional abuse at the hands of the psycho politician finally paid him back. A bullet in the heart was his justice, but it left Holden wanting to protect her from the charges she would face if the truth came out. Though Molly had second thoughts about the deceit, her best friend Carly, who is devoid of any common sense told Molly, “Holden is right. Let him protect you. Don’t tell the police what really happened.”
Lesli Kay played the role perfectly. She’s always excellent at acting, but this week she really did outshine and showcase her very dramatic skills as a leading lady in Hollywood. Crying is her forte. The actress is capable of doing heavy dramatic scenes. Take it from me, watch “ATWT” and “B&B.” Both shows are featuring two of their greatest assets, Mills and Kay, in storylines that are pulse-pounding, exciting and unforgettable.
Both “B&B” and “Y&R” air weekdays on CBS.
