HOLLYWOOD—This week’s leading man gold standard goes to handsome and talented actor Ronn Moss for his performance on “The Bold and the Beautiful” as Ridge Forrester. Moss has played the role for almost a quarter century, and his ability to make the fresh and exciting is a testament to his brilliant acting abilities and the writing of Bradley P. Bell and his Emmy-winning team of writers. Ronn Moss has an almost magical manner on screen that makes him fun to watch. This week Ridge remained in the dark about his wife’s one-night stand with her daughter’s boyfriend Oliver. Ridge also was peppered by daughter Steffy with questions about the night of Hope’s graduation party. Moss danced around the questions and comments by his wife Brooke and his daughter, Steffy. Only a real pro could manage it all.

Ridge’s week was filled with deception. Between his wife Brooke’s lies and her whining that they are soul mates and how much she loves him, his life will never be the same when he finds out that his mother was right that Brooke would again do something to destroy their marriage. “Oh, mother!” Ridge often replies, but how right his mom Stephanie is. Just wait until Ridge finds out that Brooke mistook Oliver for him and had sex with him out on the balcony of the Forrester mansion while she was suppose to chaperoning. Brooke Logan is the last chaperone anyone would want around.

Then Ridge was questioned by daughter Steffy about his outfit that night, when she realized that her dad and Oliver had the same jacket on. Ridge, however, did not wear the hood with his jacket, but Oliver did. Stephanie studied the video from the party, where Daddy Yankee’s hip and happening beat was pulsating through the air. She had a moment of clarity and she confronted Oliver, who finally broke down and told Steffy the truth.

How does Ronn Moss do it? He manages to make the most of every scene he’s given. Ridge didn’t know what was going on around him, but his wife was confessing to him and his daughter was dropping hints left and right. Both ladies know that they hold the secret that will devastate the man they love. Ronn Moss is magnificent in the role of Ridge Forrester, and look out. The best is yet to come.

After being in the entertainment industry for almost three decades, I have learned to notice new talent. For “B&B” viewers, if you watched Wednesday’s exciting episode when Steffy finally got the truth out of Oliver about his fling with Brooke, you may have noticed early on in the episode a young man who played the new Forrester Creations intern. That young man is named Erik, and he’s going to become a star. Casting guru Christy Dooley has an eye for talent and “B&B” producers, some of them are beautiful enough to be on the screen themselves saw something special in him. Here’s hoping we see that talented and handsome young Forrester Creations intern again soon. Congratulations Erik, your beautiful mother Eva is very proud of you. So am I!
