HOLLYWOOD—This week’s leading men gold standard goes to Ronn Moss, who portrays Ridge, the long suffering husband of Brooke Logan on CBS’s “The Bold and the Beautiful,” and Eric Braeden from “The Young and the Restless,” who portrays billionaire tyrant Victor Newman, who could not deal with his ex-wife’s sexual encounter with a much younger man. Both of these men have previously played in similar storylines, but they have really mastered making each time their character has said, “Enough already!” and they make it exciting for the viewer’s time and time again. This week Ronn Moss and Eric Braeden stood out amongst very outstanding leading ladies in their storylines.

Ronn Moss as Ridge was guided through the minefield of dangerous love with Brooke by great writing in his storyline. Ridge has put up with one scandal after another. Just last summer Brooke led her teenage daughter’s boyfriend, Oliver, out onto the terrace at her in-law’s mansion in Bel Air and seduced the young man, then blamed it on the masks they were wearing. Previously Brooke has had numerous affairs, each time Ridge defended his wife. However, on Monday Ridge looked on in shock as his wife and his son Thomas kissed on the runway after the debut of the Men’s line. He realized he’s had enough.

Between slamming the phone down on inquisitive reporters who want to know if his son and wife are committing incest, and his mother’s defiance that he divorces his wife, Ridge didn’t know where to turn. Normally he runs back to his ex-wife Taylor, but this time she’s married and not waiting in the wings. Ronn Moss makes every scene feel like new and exciting for viewers. The handsome star, who belongs on the big screen, makes “B&B” more fun to watch than anything.

While on “Y&R,” Eric Braeden’s Victor walked in on his ex-wife and fiancé Nikki in bed with a man that their daughter Victoria had previously had an affair with. The shock on Victors face was evident. He told Nikki that they are history, that he would never marry a slut like her and when Eric Braeden says things like this, fans listen. Braeden is one of the most powerful thespians in entertainment today, offering a solid performance every scene he’s in on the super-popular soap.

The writing and acting for “Y&R” this week kept me canceling appointments during the week so I would not miss a moment of Victor’s emotional week. By mid-week we saw a hint of his moving on from Nikki back to another ex-wife of his. Diane is a handful, but viewers are dying to see Maura West and Eric Breaden’s scenes together.

“Y&R” and “B&B” are the number one and two rated daytime dramas every day. They both air on CBS.
