HOLLYWOOD—This week’s leading men who gave amazing performances include Billy Miller, as Billy Abbott on “The Young and the Restless,” and John McCook as Eric Forrester on “The Bold and the Beautiful.” Both actors played men who put their spouses before anyone else, and they stood their ground for the women in their lives. Billy Miller was the recent winner of the Daytime Emmy for Best Supporting Actor and John McCook, though overlooked by the academy for years, proves he’s still one of daytime’s top leading men.

Billy Miller made a big impression with viewers when he starred on ABC’s “All My Children.” Now as Billy Abbott, the spoiled rich kid brother of Jack Abbott on “The Young and the Restless” he’s even better than ever before. An Emmy win this year proves he’s getting plenty of attention for his solid performances on the soap. This week, watching Billy’s heart get broken when he found out that he and his wife Victoria had lost their baby, made viewers cry. Bill then took it a step further and went straight over to confront his father-in-law Victor Newman for causing so much stress in Victoria’s life, which may have contributed to her miscarriage.

Miller stands his ground as an actor with some of television’s biggest and most powerful-acing leading men. He plays opposite Eric Braeden and Peter Bergman. This is no small feat. He is so handsome, that we viewers just can’t wait to see the future children Billy and Victoria have as parents. Billy Miller is much more than a handsome face, he’s a gold standard performer.

John McCook plays opposite the most powerful leading lady in all of television. This week, however, his character Eric Forrester, who is married to the most successful businesswoman in Los Angeles, was excited about throwing his wife a birthday party. The problem is, he’s unaware that it could be her last, as she’s fighting cancer.  Eric senses Stephanie has some bad news for him, but pushed it out of his mind quickly. Eric took control of the party plans and it was just what Stephanie has always wanted. He pulled the family together and threw his beautiful wife a birthday party that viewers will never forget.

McCook is one of the show’s most charismatic leading men. It was very touching to see Eric comfort Stephanie and protect her for a change. Here’s hoping to see more of McCook as the standup husband Eric in the future.
