HOLLYWOOD—This week’s leading men gold standard goes to two talented and handsome actors who portray men that believe in others and their strengths. They believe in the goodness and love of others, and sometimes that is all love needs in order to flourish. Winsor Harmon, who portrays devoted son Thorne on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” offered loving support to his cancer-stricken mother, while Joshua Morrow, who portrays Nick Newman on “The Young and the Restless,” surprised viewers and his on-screen love Sharon with an engagement ring. Both men showed the softer side of their maleness, and that makes them even more attractive to female viewers.

Whenever Winsor Harmon is on “B&B,” fans can expect Thorne to strive to do the right thing. Winsor is as powerful an actor as Thorne is strong and moral. The handsome blond hunk knows how to underplay scenes that feature other actors, and his selfless nature comes through, shining strong and exciting in the role. This week Thorne stood by his beautiful mother, Stephanie, who underwent laser surgery to destroy the tumors in her brain. Thorne was worried, but he did his part as the upstanding son to support not only his mother, but his father Eric. Winsor as Thorne adds such heart and genuine emotion to this poignant and uplifting storyline. Fans miss the handsome actor who hasn’t been seen a lot lately, so we take him any time we have the opportunity to see him on the show as Thorne.

Joshua Morrow, who is one of the most talented and also kind man in the industry, plays a sometimes careless guy, who is guided mostly by love. Nick is a bit cocky when it comes to the fact that he knows that he can have almost any lady in Genoa City. Morrow’s happy with his wife Tobe and that is more than enough for him. So we are always amazed to see Nick the player, who has remained in love with two women for almost five years now. This week was different. We saw Nick, the guy who reached out to his ex-wife Sharon, and asked her to remarry him. Then he allowed her the opportunity to go tell the man who is also still in love with her, that she is now engaged to Nick. Nick also went over to his most recent ex’s home, Phyllis to tell her that he and Sharon are going to remarry for the sake of their daughter Faith.

Morrow played it all as he always does, very fresh, genuine and with the strength of his great acting conviction and skills.

Maria Bell keeps viewers on the edge of our seats. The head writer and executive producer of “Y&R” knows that Joshua Morrow is daytime’s sexiest leading man and that viewers are torn between seeing him with Sharon or Phyllis. My vote goes for Sharon. So thanks, Maria! This week we watched as Maria Bell created the most romantic storyline on “Y&R,” while Brad Bell had the most poignant storyline with Stephanie’s illness on “B&B.” The two masters of the daytime universe keep viewers happy and both shows are this week’s choices for daytime’s most entertaining dramas.

“Y&R” and “B&B” both air on CBS daytime every weekday.
