MALIBU/WOODLAND HILLS—Officials from the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Malibu/Lost Hills Station arrested a suspect after a bank was robbed on Monday, October 7.

At approximately 10:31 a.m., deputies responded to a bank robbery call at the Bank of America on Malibu Road in the Malibu Colony Plaza. The unarmed suspect was able to obtain an unknown amount of money from the bank before fleeing. Deputies were able to locate him and arrest him without incident.

Canyon News spoke to Sergeant Escalante from the LASD Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station who stated authorities are working with the Los Angeles Police Department as the investigation is still ongoing. Canyon News was also able to speak to Lieutenant Peacock who confirmed the suspect had also been involved in another bank robbery of a Wells Fargo on Mulholland Dr in Woodland Hills earlier that day. No further information is available at this time.
