MALIBU —Restrictions to enter some of the streets in Malibu have been lifted after being hit with heavy rain storms.

On Saturday evening, February 6, Malibu Canyon Road reopened after the street had been blocked all morning and afternoon due to a horrific mud and rock slide, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP). Cleanup crews were shoveling and clearing out mud and debris that poured onto the roadway until shortly after 6 p.m.

The slippery, hazardous mess comes as a result from the recent, constant storms that have been hitting Malibu, and all parts of Southern California.

Though no injuries were reported to Canyon News, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works (DPW) provides helpful, up-to-date information regarding occurring road closures and conditions on their Web site (http://dpw.lacounty.gov).
