MALIBU—On Friday, October 21, the city of Malibu will be hosting a haunted maze and movie for residents of the coastal community. With Halloween less than 10 days away, The Harry Barvosky Memorial Youth Commission is looking to attract teenagers with a maze and movie at Malibu Bluffs Park.

Set within the Michael Landon Center, the maze will contain zombies, clowns, and “other creatures that will get your skin crawling.” The maze will be open from 5:00-6:30 p.m. and the featured movie, “Frankenweenie” will begin screening at sunset. Admission to the event is $5 or patrons can bring three canned food items. “Frankenweenie” will be screened on the Multi-Purpose Field. Attendants are asked to bring chairs and blankets.

According to the city of Malibu website, the Harry Barvosky Memorial Youth Commission “consists of student appointees who are in grades 7-12 and either reside or attend school in Malibu. The Commission may make recommendations to the City Council on matters concerning the City’s programs and projects that serve young people. The Youth Commission has the authority and responsibility to plan, organize, and implement, with the assistance of appropriate members of the City staff and within budget limits, events, programs, and activities for the young people of the community, and to hold fundraising events to further the work of the Commission. All money raised will be restricted so that it is used exclusively to support the work of the Commission, its events, programs, and activities.”
