MALIBU—Signups for the city of Malibu Basketball Program are open for children and youth between the ages of 3 to 14. The news was announced in a press release by the city on Thursday, September 19.

Registration packages are $150 per player, which includes a team picture, jersey and end of program trophy reward. A late registration fee of $175 varies upon open spots on the teams.

Basketball games are managed by volunteer coaches and parents who organizes practice locations and additional game excursions. Teams are divided into divisions based on grade, and choice to play co-ed or same gender teams. Itty Bitty Basketball Teams are co-ed and designed for toddlers ages 3 to 5.

All participants must undergo physical evaluations for safety and heath precautions. Evaluations are scheduled for Wednesday, October 23 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Malibu High School. Youth games begin Saturday mornings on December 7 and will run through February 15, 2020.

The city funded program enriches enriches children by teaching them the game of basketball with a focus on confidence and hard work. Games will transpire in various cities nearby Malibu. The deadline for applicants ends on Friday, October 11.
