BEVERLY HILLS/WEST HOLLYWOOD—The suspect responsible for stealing an $8,000 Rolex Mariner watch was sentenced on June 30.
Robert Orozco, 39, a handyman who worked for a family in Beverly Grove, pled no contest in January to one felony count of receiving stolen property the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office reported. The homeowner’s son noticed his watch missing on April 20, 2013 from his bedroom.
Prosecutors indicated that the suspect was at the home the day the watch went missing. Officials later discovered that Orozco pawned the watch the day after it was stolen.
Investigators were able to confirm the watch that was stolen and the one that was pawned from receipts and the serial number on the watch, prosecutors noted.
