MALIBU—MariSol Malibu, a resort-style residential community located in the bluffs of Malibu, won the Grand Award at the PCBC Gold Nugget Show.

According to their website, the PCBC Gold Nugget Show recognizes those who improve “communities through exceptional concepts in design, planning and development.” The awards are international with recipients from around the United States and around the globe. The PCBC is renowned for being the largest regional conference and trade show for the real estate development field in the nation.

MariSol Malibu won the Gold Nugget Grand Award for Best On the Boards Custom Home. The MariSol Modern, one of the specific styles of home that MariSol Malibu offers, was the design that won for MariSol Malibu. The architect and designer on the project was Doug Burdge of Burdge & Associates, while the interior design company responsible was On Pointe Design. The developer for the project was RimRoc Investments, LLC.

MariSol Malibu is the only resort-style residential community in Malibu. It features 17 beach houses each with at least 1-acre of land. According to their website, all of their completed homes have already sold, but they have more in the works. Most of the vacant lots for sale are priced at several millions of dollars, the majority exceeding $5 million each. Lots with houses that have already sold all show price tags of more than $10 million.

In regards to the MariSol Modern, Marisol Malibu’s award winning home, the Gold Nugget judges said that “the Media Room, separate His and Her Master Bathrooms, expansive decks and deft handling of volumes and proportions all contribute to the success of this sumptuous home.” They finish by saying that the MariSol Modern “dares to peel back its silky skin to reveal muscular board formed concrete walls to remind the visitor that at its heart, this home is a structure for living and not just sculpture to inhabit.”
