HOLLYWOOD—”The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” the hit Amazon series has been picked up for a second season. It’s no surprise that the series is continuing strong after receiving some wins at the 2018 Golden Globes ceremony, as well as Emmy nominations. Amy Sherman-Palladino, the producer of the show discussed some of the expectations of season two saying, “Season 2 is big…And we feel like we’ve got, for the first time in our career, the support from the brass, the actors…”

The series is set in 1958 and stars a Jewish woman trying to make her mark in the comedic world. Rachel Brosnahan plays the housewife who endures struggles that include being a  working woman, almost-divorcee, and newly single mother.  The first season ended on a high note for the main character, Midge, but there has been talk about a turn of events for the character in season two. Sherman-Palladino was interviewed at the Television Critics Association saying, “…good things can’t last long.”

Sherman-Palladino is no stranger to producing a successful series, as she is known for The CW hit “Gilmore Girls” starring Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel which aired for seven seasons, as well as a Netflix revival. “Gilmore Girls” picked up multiple Golden Globe nominations, as well as an Emmy win for Outstanding Makeup in a Series.

While the producer teases fans on what to expect for season two of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” they will have to wait until it premieres later this year.
