WEST HOLLYWOOD—An 82-year-old West Hollywood man was reported missing on Wednesday, August 1. According to a Facebook post from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Moysey Zelmanovich Kelshchik was last seen at his home on the 1200 block of Fairfax Avenue on Tuesday, July 31.

The post, published Wednesday morning states that Kelshchik is an insulin-dependent diabetic who suffers from low blood pressure and primarily speaks Russian.

A representative of the American Diabetes Association told Canyon News, that the body runs risks of contracting life-threatening symptoms, like unconsciousness and difficulty breathing, without proper insulin levels.

“Without insulin, blood glucose levels will continue to rise and the body will go into a state of diabetic ketoacidosis, often referred to as a diabetic coma,” the representative told Canyon News.

Kelshchik is around 5 feet and 9 inches tall, 167 pounds, with short grey hair and brown eyes.

“Mr. Kelshchik’s family has not seen or heard from him,” the LASD Facebook post read. “They are concerned and asking for the public’s help in (locating) him.”

Anyone with information about Kelshchik is asked to contact LASD at (323) 890-5500.
