SANTA MONICA—Grand jury transcripts were released last week that detailed a woman calling 9-1-1 for help right before her killer grabbed her phone and hung up.

The transcript of the grand jury proceedings against 45-year-old Kelly SooPark, the woman charged with Redding’s murder, was obtained by the Los Angeles Times last week, and are now being made public. The three-day proceeding included testimonies from police, forensic experts and others who link Park’s DNA on Redding’s skin and clothes.

Juliana Redding was a 21-year-old aspiring model and actress when she was murdered in her Santa Monica apartment in 2008. The woman charged with her murder is 45-year-old Kelly Soo Park, who was arrested June 17 of this year and has since pleaded not guilty. She is out on bail awaiting trial. No motive to the murder has been discussed.

As previously reported by Canyon News, Park had allegedly entered the victim’s apartment on March 15, 2008, on the 1500 block of Centinela Avenueand physically assaulted Redding, resulting in her death. Her mother called the Santa Monica Police Department after “unsuccessfully trying to contact her daughter by phone,” according to police reports. Santa Monica Police found Redding’s body in her apartment on March 16, 2008.

Redding was born in Tuscon, Ariz., and moved to California to pursue a modeling and acting career. She was taking college courses while working at a bar as a waitress until the time of her death. Redding has appeared in the film “Kathy T,” where she portrayed the character Sharon.
