LOS FELIZ—On Wednesday, January 4, the Los Angeles Police Department posted a missing person search for Travis Joel Peterson of Los Angeles, whose family and authorities were asking for help in locating him.

On Saturday, January 7, Peterson was found dead in La Canada Flintridge around 7:20 p.m., reported CBS Los Angeles.  His body was discovered in a white Volvo on the ground floor of a parking structure outside of an old Sports Chalet store located on the 900 block of Foothill Boulevard.

Peterson, 40, was last seen on December 29, 2016 around noon on the 1500 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Canada Flintridge at a 76 gas station with his 2002 Volvo V70 wagon, with the California license plate: 4YCV509.

Peterson, a well-known music video director in Los Feliz, was sought after in the Los Angeles indie music scene. He has worked with Ariel Pink, Geneva Jacuzzi, Nite Jewel, Glass Candy, Vivian Girls, Julia Holter, Nedelle Torrisi, and Seth Bogart. According to Pitchfork, Peterson covered the U.S. presidential election for the BBC network.

Emilie Halpern, Peterson’s wife, last received a voicemail from him around 2 p.m. on December 29. She hired a private investigator to find her husband and attempted to retrieve information from a cell site. The music community and friends of the couple rallied around Peterson’s wife to help locate him by the using internet and driving around in the mountains on Angeles Crest Highway to look for the director.

While no signs of foul play, the case has been turned over to the LA County Sheriff’s Department to investigate.
