HOLLYWOOD HILLS—The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power fixed repairs on a water pipe break on February 18. It caused flooding damage to homes and cars in the Hollywood Hills area for several hours.

The pipe break caused more than 100,000 gallons of water to flood into the streets.

The pipe that was installed nearly 100 years ago fractured at around 2 a.m. in the 6400 block of Dix Street causing damages to sidewalks and pavements in the region.

There were no reports of any injuries for the incident, but residents were left without water in the area for most of the day.

It’s unclear of the exact cause of the water main break, which is still being investigated by officials.
