SANTA MONICA—On January 26, the National Weather Service reported that a new warming trend will occur in the Santa Monica area during the week of January 28 to February 2.

A 20%  chance of showers will occur before 10 a.m. on January 27, with mostly cloudiness, then gradually sunniness with a high near 64 and a north wind at 7-9 mph that becomes southwest. Evening will be mostly clear, with a low at around 48, and a west southwest wind at 5-10 mph becoming north.

January 28 is predicted to be sunny, with a high near 65, and north northeast wind at around 6 mph becoming calm.  Evening will be mostly clear, with a low at around 48, and a southwest wind at 8 mph becoming north northeast.

January 29 is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 65, and partly cloudy during the evening, with a low at around 48.

January 30 is predicted to be mostly sunny with a high at nearly 63, and partial cloudiness with a low at around 48 during evening.

January 31 will be mostly sunny with a high near 62, and partial cloudiness with a low at around 48 during the evening.

Sunny skies are expected on February 1, with a high near 62, and partly cloudy skies with a low at around 48 during the evening hours.

Even with this new warming phase, residents may anticipate a slight chance of rain on February 2, with partial cloudiness and a high near 62. The NSW also announces a hazardous weather outlook in the Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area, with isolated to scattered showers on January 26, except for wrap-around moisture spreading into the interior portion late in the evening.
