SANTA MONICA—On July 1, the Santa Monica Fire Department posted on its Facebook page that it is looking for Nurse Practitioners for the upcoming Advanced Provider Unit (APU).

The APU is a forward-thinking model that teams licensed Nurse Practitioners with Fire Department personnel to respond to low-acuity 911 calls.

The Fire Department’s goal is to deliver high-quality, on-site care while decreasing unnecessary emergency room visits and improving overall community health outcomes.

Anyone who is a Nurse Practitioner interested in public service, healthcare innovation, and helping others, should contact the SMFD.

Interested applicants can fill out the APU Interest Form at: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx…

Those who apply will be helping serve the community in Santa Monica and play a role in shaping the future of pre-hospital care.
