MALIBU─A house fire erupted near Malibu City Hall on Wednesday, January 29.

Eighteen firefighters responded to a report of a house fire in the 23800 block of Harbor Vista Drive at 11:43 a.m. The fire was extinguished by 11:55 a.m. Twelve minutes after it was first reported.

According to the city of Malibu, the fire could be seen from the city’s Civic Center because the blaze was a few miles north of Malibu City Hall.

Los Angeles County Fire Department informed Canyon News that the exterior shed of the home was the only part of the one-story home that was damaged. No other properties near the surrounding home were affected and there were no reports of injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
