MALIBU—A car crash on Monday, June 11 closed Pacific Coast Highway near Big Rock Drive in both directions. NBC Los Angeles reported the vehicle collided into a power line pole at around 8:10 a.m. causing several power lines to fall.

The driver was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries sustained. Officials arrived on the scene to repair the power lines and poles that were down. PCH was closed between Big Rock Drive and Topanga Boulevard as the pole and power lines were repaired.

Officials from the California Highway Patrol directed traffic around the closure. All lanes were closed for two hours until around 10:14 a.m., where one lane going in each direction was reopened to motorists. It took several hours until all the power lines were cleared and all the lanes were reopened to the public.
