MALIBU—Authorities are searching for an armed burglary who stole items from a Water District building on September 30 in the Malibu Creek State Park region. Officials from Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department conducted a search in the region searching for the suspect with rifles and bloodhounds.

A park worker informed authorities that he saw and spoke to a suspicious man who fit the description of the gunman that police were searching for with a backpack in the region. Authorities have not ruled out that the gunman could possibly be connected to the murder of Tristan Beaudette on June 22.

Beaudette was camping with his two daughters when he was fatally shot in his tent. The authorities blocked off the area in order to keep hikers and visitors away to preserve the crime scene. Officials utilized helicopters, as well as deputies on foot to search the region. The suspect is still on the loose.

Anyone with information regarding the incident or the suspect is asked to contact the LASD Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station at (818) 878-1808.
