SANTA MONICA—Authorities from the Santa Monica Police Department are searching for the driver involved in a felony hit-and-run.
On Sunday, November 1, at approximately 5:39 p.m., a car collided into a pedestrian crossing the intersection of 14th Street and California Avenue. The pedestrian, an elderly woman, sustained major head trauma and heavy bleeding.
She is listed in critical, but stable condition. Due to the nature of the incident–the victim’s age, injuries and charge, the Major Accident Response Team is investigating the incident.
Police are looking for a 2007-2014 Stormy Blue Mica Mazda MX-5 Miata. The vehicle is missing its driver’s side mirror. Canyon News has spoken with Sergeant Rudy Camarena of the SMPD, who has indicated that the police is looking for a car similar to the make and model of the image.
