UNITED STATES—President Trump along with the Secretary of Defense, Mark Esper attended the Army-Navy football game in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday, December 14.

President Trump greeted the players prior to the game and announced a waiver that allows athletes who qualify for the NFL, the opportunity to play professionally before serving in the military.

“So what we’re doing now is you’ll go out and you’ll make a fortune,” said President Trump. “And after you are all finished with your professional career, you’ll go and you’ll serve. And everybody’s thrilled.”  Players from both teams presented the Commander in Chief with football jerseys.

President Trump was welcomed by crowd of approximately 70,000 people as he sported his  red, “Keep America Great” hat.

The game was between the Army Black Knights of the United States Military Academy at West Point and the Navy Midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy, and was held at the Lincoln Financial Field. Navy was victorious with a  31-7 score, led by Malcolm Perry.

 

At the end of the game, navy parachuters presented President Trump with the game ball.
