HOLLYWOOD—Awards season is slowly creeping as the 2015 Primetime Emmy nominations were announced on Thursday, July 16. The nominees were announced by “Orange is the New Black” star Uzo Aduba and “So You Think You Can Dance” hostess Cat Deeley.

There were quite a few surprises to say the least. No love for “Empire” in the Outstanding Drama Series category. No love for the ladies of Juliana Margulies in the Lead Actress in a Drama Series race?

No “Big Bang Theory” love for Jim Parson? Finally, some love for Tatiana Maslany for “Orphan Black.” There were plenty of surprises and snubs in this year’s nominations. And of course there will be those that agree with the nominations and some who will be scratching their heads. I’m still seething that Terrance Howard did not nab a nomination for his work on “Empire.”

Leading the pack of all nominees was the TV series was “Game of Thrones” with a total of 24 nominations including Outstanding Drama Series. A list of this year’s nominees can be seen below:
