LOS ANGELES — Singer Chris Brown had his probation revoked on Monday, December 16 by a Superior Court judge.
The singer was scheduled to appear in court after being ordered to serve 90 days in a rehab facility in November. The court appearance was to examine Brown’s progress at the facility. Judge James R. Brandlin revoked the singer’s probation based on the arrest report from Brown’s alleged assault incident in Washington D.C. in October, but he did not remand Brown into custody, citing satisfactory progress made by Brown in his treatment program.
The probation report, obtained by TMZ, details the progress that Brown has made, which includes negative results from random drug screenings and participation in several group and anger management therapy sessions. A letter from an unnamed official at the treatment facility notes that “the medical and clinical teams are very pleased with his progress and commitment to the process of dual diagnosis rehabilitation.”
Brown has also done well with his community labor duties, of which he is required to complete 24 hours every week. The probation officer who wrote the report states that the singer has so far completed 60 hours of that labor. Also noted in the report is Brown’s intention on returning home following the successful completion of his treatment.
Judge Brandlin scheduled another court date for February 10, 2014. Brown is also scheduled to appear in D.C. on January 8. He faces a misdemeanor assault charge for allegedly assaulting, a 20-year-old man. Brown was kicked out of a separate treatment facility in Malibu in November for reportedly throwing a rock at his mother’s car window.
