NORTHRIDGE—Two people were killed, and one was injured as the result of a high-speed chase that culminated with a multi-vehicle crash on Friday, July 5. 

Officials from the California Highway Patrol were following a white Toyota at approximately 1:08 a.m. on Reseda Boulevard.

Officers ended the pursuit for the safety of other drivers. Moments after officers stopped pursuit of the vehicle, the suspect lost control and crashed into several cars in the parking lot south of Devonshire Road and Reseda Boulevard.

The driver has been identified as a male in his 20s, who was ejected from the car and died at the scene from injuries sustained. The passenger was transported to a local hospital in critical condition noted CHP Officer Weston Haver to reporters.

The Toyota Paseo slammed into two cars parked outside a CVS pharmacy. A woman sitting in the parking lot was struck during the collision and later died of injuries she sustained. The names of the victims have not been disclosed to the public.
