SANTA MONICA—The second phase of the Expo Light Right Line construction will close down Lincoln Boulevard beginning on April 21.

According to a news release from Metro and the Expo Line Construction Authority, Lincoln Boulevard will be closed at Colorado Avenue until April 28 at 6:00 a.m. Due to construction, northbound traffic will be diverted at Olympic Boulevard so that drivers can use the recommended alternate route ofEleventh Street to get around the area. Southbound traffic will have to takeSanta Monica Boulevard to also use Eleventh Street as an alternate route.

Colorado Avenue will be closed between 7th Street and 9th Street, but local access will be allowed during the week. Eastbound traffic will be detoured at 7th Street, while westbound traffic will be diverted onto 9th Street. Pedestrian access will be allowed around the construction area, but drivers are warned that parking restrictions will be “strictly enforced.”

As the construction for the new rail line ramps up, the Expo Line Construction Authority will host a community meeting in the city to discuss with the public the second phase of the project, according to a bulletin put out by the organization. The meeting is set for April 23 at the community room atCrossroads School on 1715 Olympic Boulevard and will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a formal presentation followed by an open house session that will encourage “dialogue and community input.” Parking will be available on the school’s campus and the surrounding streets.
